Amazon.com Review This volume, authorized by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's estate, contains all 4 full-length novels and all 56 short stories featuring Sherlock Holmes. At over a thousand pages, the weighty tome is a perfect gift for budding amateur sleuths, and it is an ideal companion for a long stay on a desert island (or a leisurely trip through the English countryside). As the reader wades past the tense introductions of A Study in Scarlet and moves towards such classic tales as The Hound of the Baskervilles, "The Adventure of the Speckled Band," and "The Final Problem," she is sure to draw her own conclusions about Holmes's veiled past and his quirky relationship with his "Boswell," Watson. Doyle never revealed much about Holmes's early life, but the joy of reading the complete Holmes is assembling the trivia of each story into something like a portrait of the detective and his creator. By the end of the long journey through London and across Europe (with a long stopover at Reichenbach Falls), one is apt to have found a friend for life. --Patrick O'Kelley

Great ValueJuly 22, 2010 E. L. Phillips(Goodyear AZ) Since the publishing houses for the top mystery authors have seen fit to raise their Kindle edition prices as much as 50% in the past two months I started looking at some of the classics I've never read. I was delighted to find the The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection, the equal of over 1100 printed pages, for $3.60. A great bargain.
A Great Childhood MemoryJuly 13, 2010 LCGreen This is the edition of Sherlock Holmes that my husband owned as a child. We lost our old copy in a house fire and replaced it with a different version where the pages were too thin and the type too small to be readable. We finally found this edition again. He was thrilled to get it back and is reading it over and over. All the novels and stories in a very readable format.
Really complete Sherlock HolmesJune 1, 2010 John E. Harmon I was looking for a complete Sherlock Holmes, with all the short stories and the four novels in one volume. I also wanted the original Signey Paget illustrations. This book has them both and it is an excellent value. The quality of the images is quite good and the page thickness is not so bad that the book ends up being a foot thick. Overall an excellent book.
